Dont race HSV's

Post by MelbStazz »

I was on the road a couple of weeks back, i came up to a set of lights.
Car was running sweet, good tunes on.
I glance across at the HSV 4x4 Wagon, both the wife and hubby give me the nose up ( total yuppee image thing!!), this didn't sit well with me.
I should have shrugged it off, but how dare they snob off my lil beastie.
The lights go green and he tromps it, albeit with a motorbike infront of him. Stoopid. I took off easy in 1st then a lil harder in 2nd, 3rd was really going for it, grabbed 4th, nothing!!! Hmmm, really bad miss shift. Not good, i sit there cursing under my breath, albeit my fault.
Then i glance down at the tacho.......nothing. Engine has stalled, or so i thought. Get it going again.... starts 1st kick. i think nothing more of it, till about 5 mins later when the engine starts to make this terrible noise.
Yep, scratch one engine and TC06.
Time for a rebuild. though im starting to wonder if it's really worth it.
:x this car has had alot of work done to it, just to get it back on the road and i do this.

AAAAAHHHHHH what to do ??? ? ? ? ?

How do you root a turbo and engine in one go? Unless you've got no oil..

the turbo was on the way out, that lil squirt was the final straw. I've yet to find out exactly what has failed in the engine. Mr Flav has the car and it's being diagnosed. Though he tells me it looks like a total engine rebuild.
Maybe MR Flav can enlighten me and you all as to exactly what has happened.

That would probably have been cheaper.

rofl

poor guy, he doesn't need to hear comments like this ^ :x

Atleast that'll be two less things prone to breaking in the future.....and it would have died eventually, you have to mis-shift A LOT of times on a half old motor before it gives way so it's not something unexpected really :(

:x

then i would be even more un-impressed.

though i do get a new engine/turbo setup now.
I won't make the same mistake twice. I enjoying driving my car too much to keep on breaking it and having it off the road.

lesson learnt.
