Floor Sealers - Yes, I'm serious

Post by Alspos »

Howdy All,

I am building a new garage for myself. I need/would like to seal or paint the floor. Any tips or suggested products?

Be nice if it was a light colour and not mega expensive. Been googling and found these, but like anything, a bit of research qucikly becomes an information overload.....

floor paint works quite well on floors. I tried to paint the roof with it but it fell off and ended up on the floor anyway. was a long time ago and I don’t know what it was called, but I do know my boss at the time got it, but I don’t know where he got it from. I do know it was in a white tin, but I cant remember what was marked on the tin. I do know it was proper floor paint, but I cant remember what was so good about it. I do know you need to clean even a new floor with water and hydraculic acid, but I don’t know how to spell hydra-clor-ick. I do know almost every large workshop uses it so paint shops must know about it, but I don’t know any paint shops. I do know all this is totally useless to you, but I just cant seem to stop typing......
I figured out the meaning of life, and since then every day just gets worse.

Warranty void if stupid.

Garage is 7.5m x 5m (37.5 sq m)
The can says 4 sq m per litre for two coats. It's a bit confusing written like that though.

But I used about 8 litres to complete (4.7 sq m per litre) I probably didn't need to thin the first coat as much as they said to....
