Thanks for the comments guys :)

Im swapping the good bits from Mr Rattles over. Then unfortunately, as I can only have one car here, I have to get rid of it. So its going to one of those 'free car pickup' guys that use them for scrap metal etc. So if anybody wants a road registered Starion chassis for free - its all yours. You'll get all the bits I took off the JA, so it'll be complete but messy. Last recorded Kms was aroundf 130,00Km, clock was at ~133,500 when I swapped the speedo.

No dents, all visible rust removed and resrpayed. Includes replate of cills etc but there is rust behind the drivers side front panel. I used deoxidiser and fibre bog to prevent it from spreading though. Dont know why my lazy ass panel beaters didnt inform me of this.

Oh and the gearbox/motor probably wont be there.

Looks nice even with the poor paint. I like how you put the new bumper on there, really makes the car look good. my question is what are the things on the fenders? I cricled them in the pic I was tihnking mabye turn signal flashers for the driver but they dont seem to stick up very far.

Because it is an early Jap import, it once had rear view mirrors on the guards - those are little bits of plastic that cover the holes where the mirrors once were.

That actally for some unknown reason sounds pretty cool. I am gussing that it did not have the mirrors on the door then did it. I have never seen them, and if dont right that may be pretty cool.

Yeah Im not 100% sure what to do with them. I will likely have them filled in when the paint is done properly. The covers have worn out, and its actually electrical tape in places covering the wholes however it was painted and you cant really tell anymore. I left them there because I was thinking of taking a couple of bits from a Galant. Galants have these little chrome bits that sit on the sides that throw a green LED backwards on to the bonnet - I guess to help judge distance at nighttime?? But wasnt too sure if they suit the Starion really... just left it there as an option for when its done properly which wont be far away now.

But as jrod82 said, the car did come factory with bonnet mounted side mirrors. Its old, and its one of my favourite things about the car, its number 329 to be built and its still alive :)

Just built a custom sub-box for it. But I'll wait until Ive had a chance to cover it in a nice material before I post pics of that :) Also have to swap the leather door trims for cloth due to the change in speakers (6x9 -> 6.5) but Im going to attempt to retrim the cloth one first to prevent a downgrade. Will have to finish the center console too, paint the black bits silver and recoat the silver bits with more silver.

Also converted the boot from 'big steel rim with no boot space' to 'space saver with boot space' and put in a parcel tray etc

Got the reed switch, and found a place to get the magnets so I can put in the new white faced speedo without losing the VELNAS too.
