Well Phil, we are currently working on exactly that. We know there is alot of people here, and out there that just do not want to do the jump to multipoint and new ECU. This is an expensive modification anyway you look at it. So we are currently playing with what we have and tweaking it in all directions to see how far we can safely go without turning the car into something that becomes ugly to drive. We hope to offer the package in the next few weeks/months in a few different forms and also at dirt cheap prices. We are still working on electrical components that will make the car nice, fast and engine safe. I wont be hiding any 'secrets' on this one as it's aimed at people like yourself.

Is there pic of your car on this site as i would like to a have a look at it,itmust be the best yet,you should be gratefull there is someone that lives not far from you that has a passion for these cars,as i have one of his engines in my starion,as i am still running it in ,yes i reckon this will be pulling a fair size horsepower level. After it is run in, where i live we have not got shell optimax or bp .As i live about 2800k's away from Chris as he will always get my bussiness,to me you are bagging him, remember,if you are making a bussiness out of repairing starions, everyone is a customer to you.No matter you think of them. This site is to help people out in trouble with there cars.I personally think you are jealous of him.You say you are a F1 tech,i am starting to think that stands for something else.I think i just waste 10 minutes of my time typing this out.You won't see me emailing you for parts if you got them. Why you don't see Chris on this website is because people like you on it.If i get banned from typing this i don't really care.Do your self a favour keep your thought to yourself. :)

ahhhh....not baging him at all. I just wanted to know who he is and what he has done..(am i repeating myself here again?).As far as being on the forum it would have been nice to chat to him. I dont work on Starions as a business, i do it as a hobby. Im basically retired as i made my money in motor racing, but i dont go and buy parts so i can give them away either.
You will also notice that in all my posts i have never said a bad word about anyone, we are all friends here and help each other out all the time. Just ask around. So calm down a tad there..your in QLD remember.
As far as passion goes well, i did my apprenticeship on these cars and im still here and that was over 20 years ago..if you bag me about it then you bag everyone, this IS a Starion forum. I invite you to hang around...but dont be a wanker. We all think that 'the guy who built my engine' is a legend and better than the next bloke...

My comment was 300+ HP at the wheels not at the engine. A very simple comment post a dyno sheet with 300+HP at the wheels. Again it is not easy with the 4G63 SOHC engine as opposed to the 4 valve guys.

That's my observation on this list. I think the highest SOHC run we have posted is 238.6HP at the wheels from Barney. (My widebody doesn't count because it's a 2.6)

from http://austarion.com/forums/view ... light=dyno

This is not a challenge, not a critizism, just a fact.

Have a look on the vr4org list they have heaps of guy's on 180kW - 220kW or the same with the WRX lists.

This I know is also a reflection on the funds people have available to throw at their cars. There are a lot of students and young guy's on this list so fair enough.

things seem to have got out of hand. :x
I've met both Chris and MR Flav. I can personally say that each of these people are top, top, top blokes, and i can say that Mr Flav would now be considered a good mate of mine.
Mr Flav has peformed far beyond my expectations of a mechanic. My cars now running better than it ever had( except for the turbo on the way out ).
I have seen the engines that chris builds and i can say that they are of top quality and full of top shelf performance gear. After talking with him for some hours, he knows what he builds and he builds them properly.
The power claims that are made are if you use the correct set-up to support chris's engine. He explained to me, that with the correct turbo, fuel system, computer etc, these numbers are possible. I have no doubt.

They way i see it, each man to his own, there's enough room in the starion community for everyone to toy around with our much loved starion and devolop new parts that help our cars stand out more in the crowd.

Interesting dyno graph...

My dads groupA engine has got about 70 more ATWHP @ 4000rpm. Just incase someone might be interested to compare....

Kon's turbo on the groupA motor would be interesting! Damn dodgy groupA rules :x

Can you post your Dad's dyno sheet? I guess Kon's dyno run is a perfect example of what happens when you put a BIG turbo on. You need quite a few revs before things get going.
I notice between 4500-5000 it picks up 60HP as the wheels! "LAUNCH MODE" :D
