Praise the lord

Post by scum »

They fell for hours, thousands of them, like little silver snow flakes; sparkling in the artificial uv light. Falling, falling, till finally heaping up on the floor with so many others. The shavings, however, where as far from our good lords mind as food and sleep. Long ago he had created Adam in his own image, of his own soul, his own essence. proud, was he. but something was missing. eve had only served to deepen the already archaic lines of age in his old face. But now, as he stood back and admired his work he realised, his job was done. Nothing has or will ever again be as perfect as what stood before him today. He had created unrivalled perfection. He had created the starion vr4 thermostat housing.

as he stood, his heart swelling with pride and joy, he suddenly knew what had to be done. he was tired, he was hungry, he wanted to go home. DAMN!! he thought to himself. I have allot of cleaning up to do.

Those little silver 'snowflakes' may be pretty, but they hurt like hell if they go down your shirt. Funny for everyone else as you dance around trying to get them out. rofl

yes, they hurt. they hurt when they go down u'r shirt, stick to u'r arms, go in u'r mouth, bounce off u'r cheek then u'r glases and into u'r eye.. they hurt. and i have the same prob as you Al, i'm not suposed to use this place for my crap either. but i have keys to come in on the weekend. the trick is to clean up so well that no one knows u where here!
i might drill and tap the holes for the sensors tonight, after that i can post some hand drawings if anyone wants to convert them to tech-drawings for the technical section.

woohoo, my little thermo-thingy worked better that i had hoped, it fits in soooo well, heaps of room for turbo oil outlet and dizzy-thingy, just went and got a 44mm dia thermostat to replace the 52mm std one. the std is 83deg and my new one is 82deg, so i dont think 1deg will worry it too much. my guess work was spot on, the taperd edge lines up dead flat with the rocker cover and with a 90deg fitting in it it wraps around the head and points at the front of the motor with only 4mm clearance around the engine. looks like a factory part. :D
this was suposed to be on hold @ the moment, with moveing house and all, but i cant leave it alone. pics and measurements when finished.

Boss lets me make anything i want at work after hours, as long as i doesn't stop other jobs from being done. They are real machines too, not those playthings you were using :P LOL. He has even let me take the plasma cutter home a couple of times.

Our plasma cutter is a plaything, slightly bigger than the average home mig welder. Runs on 240volt, and will run off a 10cfm compressor (running almost contiuosly though).

Our milling machines, lathes and machining centres (lathes that can mill as well) are another story. Most of them, bar a couple of older lathes are worth over $500 000, with the mill i regularly operated valued at well over a million dollars (scary to thing about when i stuff something on it).
