hey guys thanks for help on the burnout question! and does anyone know weather you can put starion widebody wheels onto a normal starion? if so does anyone have any maybe grouch or anyone else in the US :D

If you change the rear shafts to the 5 bolt type, then you can i believe. not sure if anyone here has actually done it yet though?

I don't know where you got the "at the rear" idea from, Starions have the same stud pattern front and back.

Most "normal" starions are 4 stud. Later model euro spec flatbodys had 5 stud, as did the (someone correct me if I'm wrong) DASH GSR-V's.

Also I'm not sure if widebody wheels would fit under the standard guards. I dare you to try it.

Widebodies are 5 stud front and rear off course :? Falcon stud pattern but offsets are different front and rear. The widebody hubs are different and the brake discs are bigger front and rear (calipers the same however). However hubs, brakes and caliper brackets will fit you just have to get some (from the US).

A friend of mine had a JB (intercooler) with the original 5-stud pattern.

He fitted the wheels of the widebody (7"x16" front, 8"x16" rear).

Don't no about offset figures but erverything fitted perfectly!!! no touching nothing, and looked and drive really :drool:

yes it will fit, but you need to convert it to 5 stud and you need 2 sets of front wheels.

Are you sure your mate's car was a JB, not a euro spec car? It's just that your avatar says you are in Switzerland, and JB is an "Aussie thing", and I have never ever ever heard of a JB with 5 stud.

Ups, i always thought the "Aussie thing" Jb's had the 5 stud, like the intercooled versions in Europe. In this case you really have to convert it.

Regarding the post from CussCuss, my friend didn't have 2 sets of front wheels.
As far as i know, the wide-body came originaly with 7" fronts and 8" rears.
As option you could have had 8" front and 9" rears. So a normal set of front and rear wheels should do it.

The only factory intercooled starions in oz are the JD's and they were still 4 stud.

Widebody wheels came in two different sets: 7 and 8" for the standard cars, and the later 1988/89 got the 8 and 9" form those equipped with the SHP (Sports Handling Package). The offsets are:

front 7" has +18
rear 8" has -10
front 8" has +18
rear 9" has 0

All these wheels should fit inside the narrowbody guards, but the best wheels to use would be the 7" fronts and the 8" fronts (on the rear) as they both have +18 offset.



With the correct offset, you could fit 10" or 11" wide wheels on a narrowbody.

That wheel pictured above also came in 4 lug pattern, on my 87 u.s. technica. Polished up, they look great on my old rwd corolla. Fit like a glove, looked killer.
I changed that 87 flatside to 5 lug and lsd from a donor widebody car. Used the bigger rotors with calipers/brackets up front and swapped everything from the rear (except struts and lower control arms). 16x7 fine up front, but the 16x8 rears didn't clear on a lowered flatside. 16x8 'fronts' would have been ideal on the back, but I ran all 16x7 as thats what I could get at the time.
