I have recently been searching for the water temp sensor that switches the thermo fans on. Do ya think you can get one? Pfft not a chance. Not even Mitsu have them anymore.

So went to the wreckers in Brooky on the off chance. Of course you say Starion and they think you're mad!

The exact match for the Staz one is a 1986 Ford Laser!!! :o

How so? Well mazda 323s were the same as a Laser just rebadged around the same time. So it looks like our Thermo Fan switches are actually a Mazda part!! Or there was sort of crossover. Weird!

And yes Dave I did get you one. :)

Interesting... quite possibly a generic re-badged Bosh part. Mitsu did quite a bit of this in the 80s. And there were more than a couple of Mitsu Electric parts in the 1985/86 MAZDA 323/LASER TX3.
Who knows which way it went. Important thing is, you got one and you shared the wisdom. cheers :beer
