Ditto....either that, or the price they would be asking, would be cheaper to buy one and get it installed yourself.fr335tyl3r wrote:ix, i believe the problem u will have finding a car with an aftermarket ready installed is that everyone likes them so much once they have them (and there is a lot of work involved to get there)...hence it will be quite hard to find one.
anyway, good luck.

they do have a very good effect, hence the owners attachement and why you will hardly ever find one for sale.
many of the guys on here have mpi conversions with aftermarket ecus and have been running their starions problem free for years, so they are in no need to get rid of it cause they are actually very fun reliable cars.
again, as said above, u may find one once in a blue moon, but it will cost you an arm and a leg. ide be looking to do a change over to aftermarket from a standard one if possible.

Depends on how you look at it.
Main problem with starions is that bigger boost applications will cause fuel cuts...this is what an aftermarket ECU can fix in a starion. BUT, you have to remember that a fuel cut defender can do the same thing.
It will allow you to boost more than a standard computer, but being throttle body injected, you have to change to multipoint before the injectors can keep up anyway. Just ask widebody woody about that.

Haha yeah thats basically what i said about the MPI conversion as well. I think to get the full effect out of aftermarket ECU, u need the MPI as well.
As we said though....arm and a leg if someone wants to let go of it. Ive seen them for about double the price of mine, and it sure as hell isnt $5000 worth of work. Buying stock and working ur way up would be the way to go.
