removing super aerodynamic, side pod thingys help ;)

Post by 4g6beat »

Not sure if this should go into here or tech (here i'm assuming).

I'm sanding my car down for a respray and i've removed most bits that'll get in the way of sanding BUT i haven't figured out how to remove the little sidepod thingys as i cant see any way of removing them. Do you just have to pry them out or do i have to pull back the vinyl inside and udo something there? sounds like a pain if thats the case :) bloody staz's it like mitsubishi made these things to confuse anyone attempting to take them apart !

Why not just paint them? You're talking about the bits between the front doors and rear windows right?

becasue you'll get a better finish to the paint if u remove them. And also cos if u paint over them the paint will prob seal up around it.. and maybe theres rust in there... so many possibilites.

Two nuts need to be removed from the inside. You need to remove the interior lining behind the side vents.

Watch your speed - It's virtually impossible to pick it out of the carpet if it gets blown off the table.

why would you though?
depending on whether u have JA or JB ones, but i think they look cool... and its distinctive on a staz.

its like why would you remove the bonnet vents and fill those in? they dont serve much of a function being that the holes are like pencil size but they do look cool. if i got a staz with a flat bonnet i would go get a JA one to replace it.

but to each thyne own...
