ok, sorry for the hijack but im real confused over what are ja vents and jb vents...
ive seen two diff ones, one has a single large opening towards the rear of the vent and the other has a series of vertical 'bars' .... ok, pretty shitty descriptions but hopefully you get the idea...

Immaculate condition, nice exaust, mags etc etc. Too many stickers on it for my taste, but each to there own. :)
That could be Gary or Kane. both yellow and cannon exhausts. Kane recently had a black front bar (he too lazy to paint it...hey decoy) and I think he has got some big wheels now? Gary has quite a few stickers, ralliart and so forth.

have u been roasted lately?
one with the black front bar - did he have an accident a few months ago and lives in sheidow park? If so I seen it a few times when I used to deliver pizzas *shudder*... If not, ignore this post :D

#39 in the country ;)
Interesting story: when I bought it 6 years back there were actually *2* JDs for sale in Adelaide, mine and #45. #45 was the two tone burgundy/silverish colour. Original and in good nick, but I decided on the other one. A couple of years back the other one was for sale down the road. Hardly anything extra on the clock. Would have loved to buy it for parts etc (mine was being used as an everyday car and was a mess at the time) but didn't have the $$.
And I'm more than interested in a club/cruises etc :)
So, what are the best places for exhausts and other basic mods in Adelaide? I want to make it a bit nicer (and am not too fussed whether the car is 'original' or not).
Fingers crossed it will be back on the road this week with a K&N filter and cut open box :)

He had an accident quite a while ago (6 months or more?) but it took him ages to get parts. couldn't find a good front bar so went for the body kit or some thing. I know his parents live in Hallet Cove. He may have moved? I used to see him a fair bit through hallet cove and Happy Valley.
There was a guy that owned about three starions in sheidow park that wrecked them and sold parts a while back. It could of been him?

I wont recomend anywhere as I have little experience in looking for this type of stuff.
It depends if you can do some of it yourself amd how far you are prepared to travel and pay. U could go to Morpowa, Exhaust Tech, RPM, ASE, Boost Worx, or any of the smaller general mechanics.
I might be going to Mildren Race Engineering for my electronic boost controller. They are rotary specialists but they seem to know there Wolf computers?
Some people say stay away from this place. But suck it and see.

I'd say do as much work as you can if you know how.... I never pay people to touch my car unless it's stuff that I can't do (bend exhausts for example)..
Welcome Skip - I don't have one of the aforementioned pooboxes of starions ehhehe :P :P :P :P I used to have a scorp that consistantly whupped these stazza boys into submission hehe (tho never got to run up against xler8 or gadget)
As far as performance mods go - for quality work see John Keen (and only john keen) at turbo tune, he's a very switched on guy as long as you dont' mess him around with umming and ahhhing over anything hehehe - he's your hookup for any major dyno and aftermarket efi tuning....
Exhaust wise - Marky at Exhaust Tech does awesome work, in doing so you also get the stamp of approval of the car scene - unfortunately you also pay top $$$ for it - as Deeks said - AAA exhaust also do awesome work and you pay for the fraction of the price.....
What else are you looking at doing to it ?

Heh, Turbo Tune is just down the road from my place.
I'll suss out AAA. The exhaust is the first thing I want to do, and even though I've been recommended Exhaust Tech by one of my students and his dad (yes I'm a teacher) as they're involved in rallying, AAA sounds like my kind of money (yes I'm a teacher ;)).
I do have a mate that does **good** work, so I must catch up with him too and see what he can offer.
Once I've got it working well, serviced, exhaust added etc, then I might have the balls to go to Turbo Tune. Check out this interview, he obviously knows his stuff well: http://www.autospeed.com/A_1733/cms/article.html

maybe...
Heeeeyyyy think i remember seeing that starion years ago, white near anzac higway parked in a block of flats car park.
For exhausts don't go to Exhaust Techniques in the city (not to be confused with exhaust technology gav mentioned), they did my old cordia. They were cheap and seemed to do a good job at the time but i had to take it back to them coz the bolts came loose holding the dump pipe to the manifold so i lost two nuts so really only one bolt was holding the dump to the manifold. It looked they had used the old bolts from the old dump pipe :x
Then the guy that brought it off me had to take it back coz he found heaps of cracks in the dump pipe. Which was because when they did the exhaust they said i didn't need a flex pipe (they didn't really give me a choice in the matter). But it did need a flex pipe coz with out one the exhaust was to stiff and caused the dump pipe to crack.
I would say try AAA aswell. Havn't heard anything bad about them and I will probably go to them if i decide to get a custom cat back for the magna.
no more galant, no more turbo :( hello pimp magna :)
