Hi Guys

Thanks for hosting them Ben.

Just thought you all might be interested in the conversion, It took some time but it's worth the wait.

The front hubs are XA Falcon (Drum Hub) this hub uses the same bearing combination as the Starion/Sigma. The hub seal is slightly different but is easy to match up at a bearing company.

The Rotors are Skyline R32 GTR, the R33 GTS-T are the same but not crossdrilled. The outer edge of the hub had to be machined down to fit inside the Skyline Disc. The disc stud holes are then re-drilled to suit the larger Ford stud (This must be precise or vibrations will be servere) the disc is then pressed onto the Ford hub.

The mounting of the calliper is not to hard, but the bracket will need to be welded on and milled flat. This would cost around $200. The mounting bracked does not need to be offset as the calliper sits flush with the original mount.

Brake pads are Wilwood Polymatrix racing pads

The rims are 17" x 8" pre AU Falcon offest, fitted with 235/45/17 Bridgestone RE55 R Spec semi slicks (these are road legal). Needless to say but yes they have plenty of grip. The car has 240hp at the wheels and it wont spin them in first, It just hooks up.

I must than Steve Thomas from SST Automotives for his advise and help and also Brad Searle from SRE race equipment for looking after me with the Wilwoods. :beer

Thanks Guy's

It drives well except i have brake shudder. I was advised to have the disc ground not machined because they are crossdrilled. I have since had them machined on the car, but havent driven it yet to see if it's better.

Now for a wheel allignment and a re-tune as it is over boosting. The boost guage goes right around to the B in the word Boost, which is written on the bottom of the face of the Boost Guage. This is about 26psi, not good with standard pistons :wtf:

The other thing is the brake mite be abit long (long travel when pressed) during competition. This is because the callipers are large and it takes alot of fluid to move the pistons. I beileve the Nissan Patrol master cylinder will fit the original booster, is this true?

Watch your speed - It's virtually impossible to pick it out of the carpet if it gets blown off the table.
