'Off the shelf' forged pistons

Post by Mark Moddy »

Can anyone recommend a source for 'off the shelf' forged pistons ?

Either standard bore or oversize.

Failing this, who can supply some custom pistons ?

Thanks

Mark

Most forged pistons are around $800-1000 a set, Wiesco make VR4 pistons which is what we use in starions, compression ratio ends up at 8.0:1 or 8.5:1, you must sepecify what compression ratio you want to end up with. Good pistons have built 3 engines with these :beer

Hi Barney.
I used Arias in my twincam head conversion and let me tell
you that they are quiet as a mouse. :) They were $700 from
rocket industries. This included rings and pins.

VR4 pistons? Are we talking in a sohc rebuild?

I thought the compression dropped far too low if you used vr4 pistons with the standard block and head.

Confused :P
