Recent Wakefield Pics

Post by Will »

Here's some pics of my car at the recent Wakefield practice day. I friend took the track pics on 35mm which were scanned in. Pics are a little grainy because of this.

You can see some opposite lock on one of the pics coming into turn 2, see pics of me 'finding the limits' and you can watch the lap by lap change as the Starion overtook an XR6 Falcon.

Ben, let me know if you want any of these in full res for your Starion pic collection.

I think they are 215/65R14 in the pics in the driveway. 195/60R14 Yokohama A008R's on the track.

please tell me that you are over-taking that EL fallcon NOT the other way around :D
My JA has perfect motor - FMIC - forgies - high flow head but...rusted front guards and keyed on every panel. Time to get serious or time to take it to the tip.

I think it was an EF XR6, but yes, I was overtaking. To the Falcon's credit, it was on regular street tyres and near stock, but the Starion was quicker on the day and that's what counts.

hey Will, Allan (XR6) says thanks for the pix.
he had a great day btw. The xr6 has lovells springs and bilstine shocks, but is otherwise stock as a rock. he drives it VERY smoothly, and keeps it all un-fussed, otherwise it goes all loopy. it was interesting sitting beside him, listening to the big 6 growling away.
still no substitute for a real performance car though, hehe.

Well I am lining up another for Late FEB or Early March. Hopefully cookie can make this one , and I think sanchez has his rear end and a few other bits and pieces sorted out too.
