Heard on the radio this morning there was a nasty earthquake in the South island, is everyone ok? no Starions damaged?

Doubtful. I heard it was pretty lame, but there's always aftershocks..

Pretty lame? they said it hit 7.2 on the richter scale, news cant exaggerate that much in the distance from there to hear over night can it? ... CAN IT?!?!

The richter scale measurement doesn't mean shit on its own, it was deep and off the coast, so it was just a jaunty shake.

It was 200km off the coast as far as I heard.
That accounts to most people thinking their girlfriend farted.
And the news said 7.2, 7.3 and 8.0 - gotta love those hard-hitting facts :)
Worst Ive been in was 3.9 here in Welly, and thats nothing, just unusual if you haven't been in one before.

Yeah, we have heaps of earthquakes in NZ, it's fun. In my first year of uni my hostel was a converted office building in downtown Wellington, the building would sway heaps in earthquakes, made it feel much worse than the earthquake actually was. The girls would start crying, twas hilarious. LOL
