Went to pnp
Hey guys,
This might be of interest to some ppl, (this is the conclusion to what was the "everyone flame fr335tyl3rs dumb forum posting" saga)...
I went for a trip to pnp on the weekend inbetween removing exhausts from the cars (had to swap them over so i get my hitech system back on the car that is going to run...but anyway,
for anyone that is looking for an idle speed control for any intake really (it uses a stepper motor) then there are about 8 non carb XF's at pnp at the moment with the idle speed controllers bolted onto the top of the rocker cover. You'll need about an 8mm socket/spanner i believe (something like that...didnt get one cause i didnt have the right size tools at the time) and im sure it will be a darnsight cheaper than getting a new one (i was quoted 165 for a new one...:P)
Also at the moment there is a sonata with the manifold but no plenum, and also has injecotrs, injector plugs and injector seats...still havent found a replacement optical disc tho :( none of the sonatas had their dizzy's left and the l300s are all non opticals at the moment.
hope this helps, and if u either have a full optical dizzy that you want to sell me or just the disc, pm me.

Will, if your running an L300 manifold and T/B then you can just get an L300 stepper motor and bolt it on.Will wrote:thanks for the tip - I'm looking for an idle control valve of some sort, so it was worth posting.
I thought XF valves where solenoid type valves which need a varying duty cycle signal? I could be wrong, but I'm not fussed as my ECU will run either type.
Yep. Its not a stepper.fr335tyl3r wrote:lol could be mistaken then...doesnt bother me cause mine runs either style, just looked like a stepper from the quick look that i took (had more than the usual 2 wires coming out ide expect to see a solenoid having...)
Did you notice the two pipes from it going to the T/B? One pipe on each side of the butterfly?
Thats what you would do with yours if you use the XF T/B.

can i bolt up a holden throttle without changing bolt pattern? how about an l300 throttle, i heard they are really good? can i use a honda idle speed controller, a mate has one in his car and it works ok...please give me answers to these questions in 1 minute or i will be forced to post the same questions again...in a new thread... :D i love mocking myself

The L300 had a stepper motor? I believe I am using L300 manifold + TB. Cool... I'll have to take a closer look to see where it bolts on. Are the L300 idle motors rare/expensive?Fuel wrote:Will, if your running an L300 manifold and T/B then you can just get an L300 stepper motor and bolt it on.Will wrote:thanks for the tip - I'm looking for an idle control valve of some sort, so it was worth posting.
