LED Taillights

Post by Darkelf »

Tried a set of red LED stop/tailights on the w/e.

Thought it might have been a nice addition to the car. :D

Unfortunately they didn't work well at all. With just the lights on they didn't look too bad but when the brake was applied you could barely tell the difference.

Definately dodgy and I think plod and the insurance companies may have had a problem with them. So took em back! :(

Wern't cheap either Red LEDs $11 a globe cluster, white $20 a globe cluster. That ain't cheap for a Staz if you want white ones!

That's why I left the red reflector in the conquest tail lights that I have - I can think of how to do it properly, but it will use a lot of leds and will require the light to be fairly modified.

Luxeon LED's are a far better alternative. Look them up.
