I took the wastegate cap off this morning and testing the car... dialed up the boost and she is boosting how she was, i will try it at the same boost level with the cap on once the car cools enough to put it back on.... so we will see.

Once i took the cap off the car was noticably louder (ofcourse) but i didn't get a big scream effort when i changed gears, i could definetly hear the turbo whine though, then i past an RTA car to which they paid no attention. heh good.

Thats a good test Ben. Im glad your getting it sorted. Put the wastegate cover plate back on and if those boost problems return then you know that a seperate wastegae pipe will fix your problems.

That 3" exhaust will now give you more scope for future power increases.

ok guess what i must of had a dull moment cause the boost is fine now with the wastgate cap on and it is even boosting quicker :)

ok my dull moment (and you may laugh) was that my boost was turned down which i now remember doing when my exhaust fell off on the way to sydney :) this is a huge embarresment and was somthing i should have checked first.

Sorry for any inconvenience :(

now that this is sorted i am getting my bov put on.

BTW hey cooks you know that rattle we were hearing?? after burning myself numerous times on the radiator and exhaust i found it, a broken clip holding nothing on a metal pipe ggrr these things. I am going to go over the entire engine bay and remove anything that dosen't need to be there and i am going to remove all the air con stuff on the engine side of the firewall :)

*head in hands* shit

Great stuff Ben.

*Points at Ben and laughs" He had the bleed valve turned down!
hehehehe.

Don't worry mate... we all do have our duufus moments.

After you left on Sunday we had a great duufus moment. We had finished putting all the intercooler and piping on Hoongirls car:

"OK Hoony, start her up and we'll check for leaks."

Car wouldn't fire.

"Is the Motec plugged in?"

"Yep"

"OK lemme check the ignition coil and plugs.... nope there OK."

Then hoony says "Hey what about that alarm you removed."

"You said the alarm didn't work, so I just cut the loom and pulled it out."

"Well it must have been doing something, hey."

1 hour later and we finally found where the alarm had cut the ignition circuit. Stupid Rhino alarm!

lol yeah i spose,
but i should have checked that first, but i forgot i turned it down so i thought i had no reason to doubt it.

After that shit of a stupid ass waste of time i am happy lol :)
No tomorrow i am going to fit my other starter motor and fix up some wiring under the dash.

I am prolly going to lower the car 1inch all round cause the car sits quite well at the moment and the lower arms are as i said only about 20 degree from being flat

Hey Greg do you have a pic of that turbo timer man??,

then it is operation engine bay clean up so then i can see where any oil is coming from etc. plus i might swap the rocker cover over with my shiny one
