DODGY MECHANIC IN MELB - just a warning.

Post by madeofmilo »

I know we don't have a thread for "recommended worshops etc" but just thought I'd warn the general public about my experience with

"Hi-Tech Dyno Tune" in Dandenong...DO NOT GO THERE!!!!

There's no emoticon for the anget I feel towards this workshop and it's incompetent workers...

perhaps I shouldn't have left two black tyre marks accross his floor in my hastely (rage full) exit...but perhaps he should "f%^& *&#$^ up his &^$%*((# in his &&$^# and the &#^()@) horse he rode ^#*&)&*$ in on"....

I could list what they farked up...but I don't have that much energy and my blood boils...
but picture this
"Your cars ready to be picked up" - him
"arse" says I.....actually sorry I was just reading the last thread :P.

I pick up my car (rebuilt motor) ahhh baby the joy...then I start in and driving out of the worshop after handing over my hard earnt dollars....
then I notice somethings not right...I pop the hood out the front of his shop...tow major things missing...some f&*kwit didn't put the dipstick back in after checking the oil and also hadn't attached the forth spark plug lead....maybe I took it to the retard mechanics I'm not sure...
but watch out!!

the sad thing is I think they did start it and not worry...

also the dam thing was running so rich I couldn't hit boost after a wore in and got THEM to check and service it. On top of that...they didn't plump my pressure pipes properly and the dam thing was blowing oil up a pressure pipe and all over my engine...
when I took the car back...they guy goes...
"your driving it too hard...it's meant to do that"...then it was running so rich it smoked through every gear and off from idle....
on top of that there was no negative back pressure in the sump and all my sump oil was being pushed up through my seals!!!!

Ohh again....watch out for HI-Tech Dyno Tune in Dandenong!! Bad news!

how much did you pay for the re-build? Was it Hi Tech that did it?

well not exactly Hi-Tech they sent it to "To-To's" or something...
the rebuilt (just bottom end) and new clutch came to aroung 2.5K which is so rediculasly expense.

but there's no substitute for quality.

I sold my second starion to Chris at www.beyondthelimit.com.au so we go way back...actually he owes me some crownies (but I can't drink and drive).

He said, "Dave if you weren't such a lazy bastard and washed you car, you'd have one of the straighest orginal starions in Australia"
I responded "If you like it so much I'll trade you for BORBET" :P

Sad to hear you were ripped off. Interesting you are running your Starion on gas. You would save a fortune on fuel costs. I dont think it has gone up at all but petrol has nearly doubled in the last 6 months.

thanks mate, you know I was nearly bought to tears because of the rediculas cost and the amount of hours I spend labouring to earn that money. It sounds rediculous to be bought to tears 'cos of money, but 'cos I'm a student as you can imagine $2700 is a load of money, then to spend a further $180 (different mechanic) to fix up everything the $2700 dude had screwed up. At $17 I worked fucking nearly 170 hours for some dickhead to rip me off....

anyways point of post...

thanks for your concern next time I will go to my mate Chris and never to a family friend.

Ahhhh, you never said it was a family friend! Family "friends" are renowned for screwing you over! They already have your trust and you money, they don't care if you never come back!
