powdercoating and running temps please help.
Hey guys I'm cleaning up my engine bay and thought that some powdercoating would look awesome, so I've got a quote for a mere $40 which will be awesome.
However it only runs up to 90C....or 120C for the expensive stuff.
Could someone tell what temps I can expect from under my bonnet for the pipe
1) pod filter to turbo (I think not hot)
2) turbo to carbii....

there is a engine bay pick...you can miss the ugly black pipe accross the top.
What temp will they be under heavy wear?
How hot will a rcoker cover be during running? over 90c?
Cheers Dave

Easy to test, run your engine hard for 10-20 mins or so, or even normally for a 30min drive should be good enough, carry a bottle off clean water with you, pull over, pop your bonnet and pour some on whatever you wish to see is 100 degrees or more, if it steams the water immediately then you know its over 100
I wouldn't bother doing the crossover pipe in case you later decide to set-up an Intercooler.
There are some paints out there that are heat resistant to 500 degrees plus so look into that if you want too.......
