Starion Tank?

Post by chunkhead »

I'm casually doing 100kph, 10pm on a Sat night. Small, known problem very quickly becomes HUGE problem, bent crankshaft, becomes broken crankshaft, bits and belts fly everywhere! Not good! Engine rebuild needed! Pull car over and secure it (Alarm\immobilizer) and get lift home!
11am, return with car trailer to pick-up car and transport it to repairers, only to find some fuck-wit has skidded off the M1 and straight into the back of my disabled stazz! There is glass and metal and shit everywhere! There's no other car and no note (bastards), but to my utter amazement and disbelief, none of the debris is from the stazz!? The rear bumper had taken the entire impact, bent, but didn't breach the car at all! The only damage seems to be the passenger mirror which looks like it was hit with a bit of the debris, and a small dint with a footprint on the door (I would assume out of retaliation for immense damage the stazz had caused, whilst leaving mine seemingly unshaken!)
Two points: 1) Stazz is a tank!
2) Not happy with drunk twat who would kick my car!

What do you guys think about this situation!? :glare:

chunkhead, i don't wanna rub it in, but, why would you leave it where it was? couldn't you roll it out of harms way, or ring a mate and stay with the car?? f@## too late now, you're lucky it could have been worse

I think the rear bar can wait for the moment! I need to get that engine up to spec! Lucky isn't the word! I think I would have been devastated if the car was trashed! I've waited so long to finally own a Stazz and then this happens! All is well though, car is safely parked and is now in good hands! :)

Here's a couple of pics just to show you why I was so amazed! This was caused by a car travelling at 100Kph, 20m skidmarks, very smashed other car! Check out the stazz!!! :beer

heheh starion win! a testament to the cost cutting of the later model cars. all lightened materials and crumple zones, no actual metal...

or maybe the chobham armour rear bumper is the reason why starions weigh so much for their size?

hahaha its not cost cutting. It so the little ragdoll inside (thats you) doesnt get killed. Its remarkable how many people think that safety has gone backwards in the last 30 years because new cars crumble and a HQ doesnt.
Id say you would be safer in an accentl than you woudl be in a kingswood when hitting a stationary object.

Wrong! Solid rear bumper saved car! Lucky I wasn't in the car, I take all the force and get whiplash or worse! :(
