Hey guys,
For anyone hu is vaguely interested in how my car is going in terms of getting back on the road...i thort ide give u all a little bit of an update while i frantically search for the usb cable for my camera (cant believe i lost it :( )
This weekend i cleaned out the entire interior and boot of the car cause there was a ridiculous amount of crap all through the car, especially under the carpet and underlay.
Removed the center console completely, sanded it all down, painted majority of it black and left the vinyl top unpainted (was going to do it white but have some fabrication in mind for some drink holders :D)
Finished the rocker cover :D :D mmmm chameleon rocker cover looks swwweeeet. Not going to install it just yet cause waiting on my intake gear which i will install at the same time as the newly painted rocker (rocker is off other car, so engine isnt getting gunked up while i wait.)
Fired up engine for its weekly run. hmph...hazards back on...wtf *scratches head*...climbs under dash braking back in progress....looks around a bit....omg wtf is all this shit...2 hrs later massive amount of dodgy alarm system number 2 removed...unbelievable...this one had an ultrasonic that wud make the hazards flash when i moved my hand past....weird :P lol all gone and working good now so battery can finally charge properly.
Picked up a strut brace of cooks...havent gotten around to installing it yet cause didnt have a chance to jack up the car (will do this next weekend in project: degunk handbrake cables)
So, whats planned for the week ahead?
Hmmm lets see, well i have to take out some skirts from the interior and paint them black to suit the new console, if i get around to it ill look at start painting the dash too, cause there is a bit of work to do there.
Hopefully the weather will be ok during the week on thursday or so and itll give me a chance to jack the car up, get the handbrakes all fixed up (they stop the car now, but it cant move at all cause they are always on :D) and put the strut brace on.
Then once the brakes are fixed i can get the panels with rust that i cant do, fixed by the local rust place, and then its ready for the blue slip :D
This weekends progress

muhahah @ buying car :P
the chameleon paint is just working its way into many of the normal auto stores around sydney. Not many places carry it yet, its called optical FX, comes in 3 cans, a primer - colour can - and gloss that all comes together as a pack with 3 different colour fades u can choose from.
Check out camotecs intercooler pipes on the cold side i believe he used the sunset colour one.
