Hey Takaharu,

Can you confirm that the early 1987 VX Eterna with the Sirius Intercooled DASH Engine produced 228Ps ?

FWD or RWD, or Sirius DASH or Cyclone DASH, all engines are gross 200ps and net 175ps. Mitsubishi Engines over 200ps are from GALANT VR-4 4G63 DOHC turbo Engines .

Then how come mine and others with Intercooled verions come with the TD05-12 and the 155Kw 205Hp version come with the TD05-12A/B turbines ? When I called Japan up and mimic'd what I intended to ask one of the dealers, about the Sirius DASH engine with Intercooler, he said 205Hp, then I asked from which car, and he said Starion.......205Hp is about 208Ps.

Now either there are two different CR of DASH Engines or someone has got it mixed up. How can the bottom end have the DOHC pistons without having the 8.5:1 CR ? And I've looked closely at the deepness of the dish in the piston itself and can say it is very high, not deep at all.............Now about the inaccuracy in my compression test, can't exist, firstly because the extra space in the tubing of the gauge would decrease the psi result significantly, and there is only carbon deposit on the piston itself as the head was cleaned......

Have you considered that your engine might have been rebuilt somwhere along the way without you being aware of it. And the turbo was replaced for the TD version along the way also.

I think it is a stretch to think that a 20 year old performance car/motor might not have been modded or altered in some way during its life.

Just go with the flow. If the thing works then be bloody grateful for that, if it goes hard then be thankful.

But then I can't rub it into all those DOHC preachers that the SOHC factroy output was higher than all the DOHCs' except the Evo0 :D

You just haven't asked enough people yet. Keep asking until someone agrees with what you hope is right.

Yes I did, but it was hard finding someone who spoke English well enough to help me......

Can you 'Takaharu' ask Mitsubishi motors on the power output of the early 1987 Mitsubishi VX Eterna with the Sirius DASH Intercooled engine please ? and let me know what they say..........

Thanks

You said, "Can you read this and correct any mistakes"
and I did read and corrected, but you never trusted what I said. Maybe we were talking about the same car but the different spec. I answered to you from the Japanese standard specifications. If the cars for export purpose were produced differently from cars sold within Japan, my answer will never fit to your questions.

You need to check the history of your car, from present to the very beginning when it was imported into Australia at first. That's all I can say.

To answer your questions, I have been doing seriously, earnestly, honestly; then why do I have to be told "he made it up". I never do such thing to anybody. This is the end of line to the forum.

I trust your word Takaharu, WANTSOM was just joking around with you :P

I have seen your website about the Starion 84-89 and the specifications. Tomorrow, I will rewrite my questions for you and see if you can answer some of my confusion...... Thanks Takaharu

Takaharu, the "Maybe he made it up" comment was meant in jest, just a joke. WANTSOM was actually poking fun at "toysrus", because it obvious he's never going to give up this crusade untill someone agrees with him, when no-one actually cares at all. You did exactly what toysrus asked, and gave him good info to the best of your knowledge. He just dosent like the answers you gave him so he'll refuse to believe them.

Takaharu,

I was not doubting your comments. I think they are correct. I was just having a joke with Toys r us. Sorry if I offended you, sometimes I forget that you are not familiar with some Australian words and expressions. :D

I have been reading your posts with interest. I have a DASH motor in my Starion also. The pictures of your car show it to be very well cared for. Well done :)

Cheers
Greg (Wantsom)

I know Takaharu gave me correct answers because he has worked on Starion's for many years and only confirmed the specifications which he wrote on his website. And Prozac was correct, he was just making fun of me, not you.

There is just many variables that exist in japanese engines which makes it hard to get information.
