JA series1: scooped bonnet, flat twin B pillar vents, gen 1 ECI, front airdam
JA series2: 2tone interior option, elec arial

JB: flat bonnet, driving lights in frontbar, single B pillar vent, gen 2 ECI, water cooled turbo, 15" wheels, elec mirrors

JD: smaller turbo, unleaded, 3.9:1 ratio diff, different front airdam, 3 piece rear spoiler

US models 87 onwards: widebody (mmm.. ), 2.6L engine

There's other differences, but these are the major ones.

JB's came with higher numbers on their number plates than JA's. JD's were higher still. Don't worry if you have a JA though, you can upgrade it, it's a relatively easy mod too.
