Think about a Sonata manifold as well. Harder to fit initially but better in the long run in my opinion.

Oh, and try Pick and Payless at Blacktown. They usually have Sonata and/or L300 manifolds there. $200 should get you one with a TPS and throttlebody.

And grab some injector connectors while your there... you'll need them for your new injectors when the time comes.

OK.. Sonata manifold. Get the fuel rail and fuel regulator with it.

Next you'll need some injectors. VR4 or RX7 turbo ones are the most popular. Both will fit straight into the Sonata manifold/fuel rail. Don't forget the injector plugs to go with them.

Evo injectors will work as well. Anything in a 500cc range will be big enough.

Then grab a falcon throttlebody. Im using an EF one. Get the TPS with it.

You'll also need a TN Magna thermostat housing - this will point towards the radiator when placed on the Sonata manifold.

Thats about it for now.

The sonata manifold has the throttle body on the wrong end of the manifold. You will need to have the manifold modified so that the throttlebody is on the other end.. so while this is happening get a plate welded onto the manifold to allow a falcon throttlebody to bolt straight up.

Suggestions as to where to get this work done and approximate price for the modifications?

forget the L300 manifold, go straight to the sonarta manifold.
also get:
a throttle cable from a magna, complete with mounting tabs.
VN commodore airbox, complete.

its worth the effort to get a throttle body that has some kind of idle-up control, especially if you intend to run an air conditioner.

Ok so parts I have on my "to find/buy list" are as follows:

Sonata Manifold complete (no throttlebody)
RX7 or VR4 injectors with injector plugs
EF or XF Falcon TB with TPS
TN Magna thermostat housing
Throttle Cable from magna with mounting tabs
VN Commodore airbox

Modifications need to be done to Sonata which are relocating the TB to the other end of the manifold plenum (was that correct terminology...lol first tim ive used many of these words :D) and get a plate welded onto the manifold to allow the TB to bolt straight up to the manifold.

Anything ive missed?

Anyone wanna take a gander at prices on the parts and the fabricated stuff?

Instead of the commodore airbox, can I just make up my own CAI and replace the standard starion thing with that? Or can i cut up the old air box? Ie how essential is getting the new commodore airbox cause it just sounds like another thing to mount to me.

Commodore airbox is not necessary, as long as you have some form of CAI.

Random and probably stupid question for ya NXTIME or whoever else feels like answering. The standard air can has the oil catch can sticking off the side of it, correct? If i change over to a CAI do I have to include a pipe off the side for the oil catch can or is this not necessary?

You still need to run the catch can.. it detaches from the airbox.

I run an enclosed pod filter:

I used to run a VN airbox. They are cheap ($20 at Pick and Payless).. they are easy to mount.. and the filter elements for them are cheap too.

But really, any airbox/filter that takes your fancy can be used.

nice air box.

Pick n Payless didnt have any Sonata manifolds 2 weeks ago. Might be worth a call to see if they have fresh stocks.
Never argue with an idiot, it brings you down to their level and they beat you with experience.
