Nice speedo pic :)

Can I ask why you chose such a long route for your piping? The pipe is great but running over the turbo will just reheat the air.
A 180deg off the TB and down to a 90deg then under the bat would have being better. rotated housing and stright under the air box into the cooler :)

piping

Post by SIRIUS »

just a money problem, would have been a lot more. got heat rap on the pipes... im still more than happy with the performance. i lost 3.5-4 psi with the cooler on but still made a extra 8kw at the wheels with standard boost.

yeh my mate took the pic with his phone at just over 215, we hit 225 before we thought to slow down. were running out of road.

Easy, short pipes, drilled total of 2 holes for the entire install.

actually funny you say that. i had the boost switch off, so what ever it had was minimum... you can see the pic of the boost gauge in the photo. its not even in the red zone.

So what's the cheapest piping could be done for if you can buy the bends and work out the piping yourself?

2.25" Mandrel bends can be had for anywhere between $10 and $15 each. So it depends how many bends you need for your particular install.

Then welding everything up is about $100. Then you'll need some intercooler pipe and some clamps to join everything together.

Hoongirl requires about 20" of intercooler joins... at about $7 an inch thats $140.

So assuming you need 10 bends (thats a lot):

Bends: 10 * $15 = $150
Welding: $100
Joins: $140

Thats $390 which is over-estimated.
