8 Reasons not to buy a WRX

Post by WANTSOM »

1. Depart home 8:00 am for work. Stop at servo for fuel. 1 rex
2. Leave servo 8:10 - turn out of servo driveway - drive around corner. Look in mirror - 1 rex
3. Drive 3 kms. turn onto M2 motorway. drive 2 kms - pass a line of cars - 2 rexs in it.
4. Join queue at Pennant Hills road underpass - 1 rex in front, 1 next to me. Thats 6 rexs, all different
5. Come out of tollgates at M2 - merging from a slower lane is, you guessed it, another rex.
6. Turn into Maquarie Park and onto Waterloo Rd. Thinking "gee how many rexs can you see in a day". The answer is well 1 more.

Drive into car park, add them up and that was 8 WRX's in 25Km's.

And I bet if you asked them why they bought one they would prob say they "like to be individuals".

Give me a Starion any day.
Never argue with an idiot, it brings you down to their level and they beat you with experience.

Yes.. at least I notice that when I drive past, people look. Although that -could- be because my Starion is a pile of junk :)

If you think a Starion gets a few looks try it with a Scorp convertible. Towing it down the M4 on saturday and every second car or so was slowing down (we were doing 80) to have a closer look. I can't wait to get it on the road.

the osman bro's did a conv WRX, 03 model i think. Lots and lots of money and fibreglass. Looks treat, though it's another WRX. A show stopper at that.
Starions are a rarity on OZ roads, it's a awesome feeling to spot another one on the road, how many WRX owners can say that??? They're almost a modern commodore. Count how many you see of them in one day. WRX's aren't that far behind....well... one day. rofl
Subaru's are a nice car to drive, don't get me wrong. If i had the money i would lurve to get my paws on a spanking new Liberty GT. Luxury, handling and power to boot. I could never part with the stazz though, there is a special place in my heart for that beast.

as i would imagine, i haven't had the pleasure of this...yet, though i have come up against a R33 GTs25T, XR8 01 bug eyed model and a V8 LJ Tori. Back in the starion's prime.
All were interesting, amazingly the only one out of the bunch that was a challenge was the tori. Quick pick up lil top end, that's where i got all of them in the longer shifts. Fun but thinking back, leave that kinda stuff for the racetrack.
Why don't we go along to the wrx track meeting and cause a stir?
I think one of the many starions here would acomplish that.
:D
 not mine though

I read this post and thought....what are you guys talking about...WRX are really rare!!! Then I drove home from uni...got stuck between 2 WRX's and saw 2 other RX models...
so thats a 20min drive.

20 min...
WRX/RX = 4
starions = 0.

that my 3 cents...more that two ;)

WRX's are still awesome cars, especially for the $$$ vs. what you get.

It's just unfortunate that everyone knows this, hence the uniqueness of them!

Actually, I dont see why the Liberty GT's arent more popular, they are hot!
