The wheels, box and packing materials weight in at 20 pounds each. So surface mail will run you aprox. US$35.00ea and that will take about 4 to 6 weeks to reach you.

ok so ive been thinking about this lately, the choices seem to be

1) <87 3.5 LSD will bolt straight in, can you get us prices for these?

2) later LSD + 3.9 bits + Torque tube + Half shafts

can anyone confirm that thats all you need for putting in a later diff? the torque tube bolts onto the driveshaft the same? the cvs are the same so you can use the 4 bolt outers of the cv?

You are almost 100% right...

I am almost 99% sure the 87's WILL ALSO need the torque tube as the Non-LSD diffs are shorter than the LSD units, thus requiring a longer Torque tube. But you'll be able to keep your own Half Shafts and hubs. Also on the 88-89 you will NEED the Rear Hubs as well for the LSD as the difference in 4 bolt vs 6 bolt Half Shafts.

I will be picking up an 87 LSD over the weekend and ALL related componets/bits and I will make sure and confirm to see if you can use the 89 LSD with the 87 Shafts. This way you can choose wether or not to go to 5 lug wheels and bigger Half Shafts or not and still keep the bigger 88-89 LSD.

If ANYONE here can measure the Non-LSD Torque Tube I can compare it to the LSD Tubes from the LSD's here. But one thing I am 110% sure is that ALL LSD torque tubes from 85.5 to 89 models ARE the SAME here in the US. So this will mean you WILL need the US tube as well.

The price of the 87 LSD is the same as they are just as rare to find in good useable condition. Your MAIn benefit from the 88-89 model LSD's is the ability to use the larger and hevier-duty 6 bolt Half Shafts over the the 4 bolt on the 85-87 models.

Hope this has answered your questions.
Any other please post, PM or e-mail me ( oscardortega@yahoo.com )

Thanks
Oscar (The-Grouch)

By the way guys.... I currently have ONLY two 88-89 LSD's and one 87 LSD. These three are in great shape with minimal wear in them for beeing 16 years old. Just for your information.

are you able to send stuff to New Zealand?

im sure the other starion owners here would be keen on buying some gear to make it worthwhile as well....

Also, do you have a price for the widebody panels + shipping yet?

:D

I will start posting Shipping quotes for NZ under the shipping quote for Australia on the FIRST post. Give me some time and I'll adjust the post. Look for changes on post ONE.

And Sorry no resonable shipping quotes as of yet for the pannels.

Hi Oscar

At the moment my steering WHEEL looks like this:

Image

But I have seen photos of the wheel that looks LIKE this (couldn't find a photo so I drew it in PAINT):

Image

Is this the one with RADIO controls? Do you think you can SOURCE one for me?

Perhaps us kiwis should make a wishlist and get EVERYTHING shipped at once?

Hello jrod82

Well thats a first I have seen one of those steering wheels without the radio controls.

But in any case I think I can locate one of those for you. I am NOT too sure wether or not those Steering wheels (The one you want) came with the radion controls or not. But do YOU want the radio controls or NOT ?

Let me know and I'll start looking for you.
I dont see the wheel beeing more than US$50.00 + shipping

Oh by the way, What color will you preffer ?

Thanks for the interest.

I just drew that pic because I thought that was the shape with radio controls. I'm after a wheel with the controls, I've been looking on cardomain BUT everyone there seems to replace the stock wheel with an aftermarket one (so there must be a lot of spare wheels floating around?)

I'm definitely after BLACK.

Buddy here's the pic of an 88-89 Wheel WITH radio Controls...

Image

The reason guys replace it with aftermarket ones is because the leather gets trashed on top, I can send pics of TWO of mine that are trashed from wear and just plain sun damage. So these in the pic in GOOD shape are hard to come by and when they do we here in the US pay upwards of US$70.00 for them IF they are in good shape.

The drawing you have is off the 84-86 model Starions, The 87's have yet another Style whaich I have not found pics yet. As soon as I find them I'll post them.

Let me know if The PIC above is the one you want? And I think you can just get the radio control attachment, I will need a pic of the BACK of your Steeriong wheel to make sure or I can send you one of the one I have later on.

sounds like a good idea....

mines short, widebody panels including fuel flap, sideskirts and front indicators....

and my starion is now officialy a long term project 'cos the motor finally died last night... but it gave its life valiantly trying to outrun my mates GTS-T... (under controlled conditions of course)

so iv bought a corolla s/w as a hack, and the build on my staz starts now.
oz, here i come....

jrod82...
Yeah those came on the 84-86 models. I'll see if I can locate one of those for you in good shape as like I mentioned before the leather is the problem on getting trashed on top.

I'll let you know if I find anything.

I will keep searching for a resonably priced way to ship MASS items to you guys in NZ and AU. But no luck for now. Again I will get some numbers for you guys.

Thanks again for all the interest.

Question, that widebody starions have a 1" wider track than the narrowbodies do they not? I thought the suspension arms were a different length, so i would assume the half-shaft would be a different length aswell? If thats true, we couldnt use the 88-89 gear on our narrowbodies...

God i hope its not true.
