Replacement Driver side window

Post by 4g6beat »

Hi guys just enquiring,
My mates staz got broken into the other night and i'm just enquiring into whether there are replacements available from normal window places or whether it's gonna be a pain in the arse to source it, and also how much they usually go for?

I'm assuming they'll be pretty expensive given the nature of the window and how rare our cars are, anyone had any experience in this regard?

bloody burglars lucky the staz survived :x

have you tried checking through Mitzi dealers??? or maybe o'briens or some one like that.
You could always source one from the wreckers, though they maybe scratched slightly, you can get the windscreen mob to buff out light scratches and have it looking new.
Job done.

I'm assuming it's the same as any other door. Eve though i haven't tried the staz door yet i've removed others and usually the only hard bit is removing the door trims without breaking clips etc,

The windows are usualy held in place underneth by runners which hold them on by gently clamping them underneath. Wind the window down a bit and try to lift it off trhe runers then angle it and pull it out gently.

I've found that when removing tint though it's usualy easier when the glass is in place but the door trims are removed since i usualy can't find a good surface to rest it on with out getting scratched.

Hope this helps.

thanks to a "panel beater" at work, i had to remove the door trims and fix my door locks that they broke while i was on hollies. Bastards. Pretty easy to do if your patient and have a rough idea on how a car goes together. I didn't think of getting my tint done, though it does need it. I'm still toying with the idea of getting the red metallic tint, with the black over the top so it's not as noticable.

Its easy to remove and install - 4 little bolts that hold the glass to the slider bar and slide it up carefully. Took me 5 minutes to get it out.

If you want to take a trip up to Sydney I have one already taken out for a guy who wanted one "desperately" last Friday, didnt show up, and didnt call!!!! Its sitting in the garage waiting for a loving caring new owner.

If you're interested its $50.00 ready to install. I'll show you how to manouvre it as well

Call me on 0418 693 024

Cheers
