Barney, interesting that you are getting 158hp. I guess your internals are still standard ? Also you say you have a poor flowing intercooler. Is this a JD one same as mine ?

cam stages
In respect to cam stages, I imagine this is a way of identifying with cam profile was developed first during production of a race motor.
Stage 1 cam was possibly the first profile to be tired and used, then the tuner guys adjusted the profiles and ground a new cam, thus calling it stage 2, and so on
Apparently there was 8 stages of devolment in these early days with the later cams being used in far more advanced motors.
I think the "stage3" profile was recomended as it may be a good all rounder suited to a street driven car.
In race/rally circles cams are often quoted as a "no. ? " cam as aposed to "stage ?" cam.
Daz, what was done to your head? just enlarged ports, or did it recieve oversize valves/springs as well? Oh, and what size is your turbo?

Head
Ron matched the inlet and exhaust ports I believe and of course enlarged them in the process. Other than that it is standard. Turbo is a TD06.

The TD06 will have an ID tag on it with part and serial numbers as well as compressor wheel size stamped on it. It will read "TD06-17C" or similar. What are the 3 characters after it says "TD06" on this plate Daz?

:D Hi guys my 2 bobs worth my starion starts slowing down at about
5000 revs 5500 to6000 bloody slow, so power droping off after5000revs

I've been reading on another starion forum that maybe this problem is related to cam timing, apparently even when the stock cam is aligned to all the factory timing marks the cam can still be out some, this is considering manufacturing tolerance could out by a hair or two in all or some components, it all adds up..
