Had my first Autokahana event with the latest modifications in the Sapporo last weekend. It was the first round of the winter series run by MC motorsport.
Most of the cars are modified WRX's, EVO's, Silvia/200SX with 4 Lotus Elise's and 4 Porsche 911's. One Porsche is a ex Peter Fitzgerald race car only 4 years old. 75% of the cars run R compound tyres (semi slicks), with suspension mods and big horse power.
My car was the oldest by about 20 years. But I am very happy to say that I came 16th out of 80 cars :D
I cant wait until I get my new Turbo and decent rims and tyres. :D

Well done Ashly!
Nice to see the car (and driver) competing and doing well, especially since last time I saw it you were still building the beast!

Barney,
mate you have got to get some R compound tyres they make a MASSIVE difference! Even if you put them on an old set of rims just for track/autocross work.
The car might not look as slick but you will be higher up the finishing order :)

I have R compound Toyo RA1 205/50/15. But just about to get a new set of rims with 225/45/17, i think thats the way to go.

Make sure you play with tyre pressures a bit with your new rubber the low profile wide rubber can be a bit fussy as to what works best.
