I am no longer a mitsu man :(
As of half an hour ago my Galant is gone from my carport and no longer mine. I am sad and happy, it was a unique and fast car but it had to go coz I need the money for tafe and it wasn't the most reliable car either :x
I am going to give up the fast modded turbos for a while until i have a better education and job. So my next car will be boring, slow and reliable.
Im thinking something toyota but i havn't made up my mind yet so feel free to give your suggestions/opinions on what i should get.
(and don't say starion, i already heard that from decoy enough)

My first car was an '83 2l Mazda 626. Uber-reliable, the only thing that needed changing was a cracked hose coming from the radiator cos of the age. Didn't use oil, started first time every time (unless you didnt pull the choke), and it was RWD too.
I used to get stopped by people who used to own one, raving about how it was the most reliable car they ever owned etc. Me and my brother learnt to drive in it.. so many memories in that beast.
It had a towbar so it services were always requested when my mates were moving flats, not to mention that due to the fact that it was 4 door with a big of leg room I was always the designated driver :x

The '83 Mazda 626 was FWD, as was it's twin sister the Ford Telstar.
How much were you looking to spend evogalant?
Tell us this to give us a better idea of what to suggest...

I drove the car for 3 years. It was RWD. You may be confused with a 323 - an honest mistake, 6's and 3's look real similar.NachoMan wrote: The '83 Mazda 626 was FWD, as was it's twin sister the Ford Telstar.

yeah im pretty sure those old 626's are rear wheel, friend at work had one.
Im looking to spend around $3000 maybe 4 at the most.
My girlfriends dad is a panel beater/spray painter and reguarly goes to the auctions. Buys "economic write offs" (can still be fixed but insurence companies or owners decided it wasn't worth fixing) and fixes them himself. So yeah he's gona see if he can find something for me.
