There are two that I know of. I don't know if they have them running, but I know that there are two that have been projects for a while.

One is a 1UZ in wollongong being done by 4G6beat:

Hasn't been updated since 2012, so no idea if he still has it..

the other is a ford dohc unit. Maybe a coyote engine, i forget, and I cannot find any other information on it at the moment. I just remember it was also a project, so not completed, but the pictures had the engine sitting in the engine bay, so it did fit.

I own a v8 starion.

Holden 308 stoked to 355. With the crane 286 in it, it has that lumpy idle you mention.

With the 3 inch exhaust and only a tiny hot dog to keep it quiet it pulls some looks.

Fits fine, for road use in qld at least, maximum capacity is 360ci.

Has made it a little front heavy, but makes drifting real easy.

Currently off the road at the moment as it has just got back from bare metal respray, but i can post some pics on weekend probably.

Hmmmm....I thought you couldn't do it nowadays so I did a bit of a search.

Vicroads refer to VSB14 in their documents but they're quite vague. ( https://www.vicroads.vic.gov.au/~/media ... icles.ashx )

So...VSB14 lives on infrastructure.gov.au and looking at page 11 on this document shows ( http://www.infrastructure.gov.au/roads/ ... 011_v3.pdf )

So....Starion = 1265kg x 5 = 6.325 litres baby!!!

Go for it Ramon! No doubt there will be a few hurdles....gearbag, brakes, torching tyres but it would make a fairly interesting drive.

I would love to see,

The whole idea of spending the money and going LS is they are light, and have alot of go fast bits for them

If mine ever hangs a rod out, or if I can get a second one, I will go down the LS route.

LS Next Block, Dry Sump, 8 Throttle X-Over Manifold etc.

I was gonna say, the Kevin Bartlett group E starion is in central qld with a Holden v8 in it. Mackay I believe. It previously had a commodore v6 in it, Stace on the forum was the previous owner. Not your car I take it?

I am tempted to find a rolling shell to use for this build, do not really want to wreak a good Starion

Wowzers, I hope you took lots of photos of the Ralliart colours under the paint!

Ever been tempted to restore it? There aren't many pukka group E starions left..
