2 questions, interior and wheels

Hey all,

Q1. Most new cars like holdens and such have a really nice finely woven style carpet in their boots that looks better (in my opinion) than the carpet in my starion boot at the moment. ITs also the lining they use on some speaker boxes. Where can I get this as I am planning on retrimming the boot quite soon?

Q2. I have been looking around and found some wheels that seem to be 4x114.3 with a +38mm offset. What problems is this going to present when trying to install on the car? Will the wheels fit at all?

An answer for those wheels.... Yes they will fit, but you will need to use a spacer at least 20mm thick. This also means you will need longer studs, etc.

where should i look for something like longer studs and how on earth would i install them? Lol sorry, im just gettign started out on car technical stuff...im good with removing interior stuff and working around the engine now...but not so sure on the underside yet.

Find some other wheels. 20 mm or close to offset.
A motor trimmer will have the stuff you're after. Probably in 10 different colours too.

Quick offset explanantion:

The offset is defined as "the distance between the mounting surface (bolt pad) of the wheel and the centre line of the wheel." The offset dictates where the centre line of the tyre will be located relative to the wheel mounting surface. It is important to understand that all wheels have offset, even if it is zero. A wheel is said to have zero offset when the center line of the wheel coincides exactly with the mounting surface. A positive offset occurs when the back of the mounting surface (bolt pad) is closer to the street side of the wheel. Positive offset results in narrower tracking because the centre line is moved away from the street toward the vehicle. A wheel will have a negative offset when the back of the mounting surface (bolt pad) is closer to the disc/drum side of the wheel. If you have a rear wheel drive vehicle it will most likely require a negative offset. Negative offset results in wider tracking because the centre line is moved away from the vehicle toward the street..

Sort of means 38mm offset will move the tyre inwards 18mm more than standard, you will probably hit the strut with these rims.

I Re-trimmed a whole car from blue interior to black/grey interior with supplies from this place. They have various carpets/velour that you can choose from.

fr335tyl3r, with spacer plates i had tog et them, my spacers bolt to the hub, but use their own studs for the wheel to bolt to...it doesnt put any strain on the studs... got mine from used tyre mart in adelaide...

I made some spacers myself out some some aluminium discs
Also made sure the centre bore of the wheel and hub are now a perfect fit.

I got some longer bolts at the local mitsubishi garage.. simply got the longest they got. (still a bit on the short side but it fits)

Bunnings sell the exact carpet you are after in different colours and thicknesses (pretty much designed for boats) we used it to create a false floor for some amps and a sub box. It's on huge rolls which u get them to cut for you by the metre.
