Has listings under European and Japanese catagories, A182, A183, A184 and A187 under the Japanese listings, all RHD. Seems pretty damn correct too, as has the solid axle information under the A182, and the DASH head info under the A184.


If it was the spline where the torque tube interface with the diff, I'd expect it to do it while you were driving, specifically when using the engine to slow the vehicle. Maybe the two bushes where to torque tube mounts to the subframe are buggered?

Never thought of that. Car seems fine when I'm driving.
Certainly something to replace before spending coin on a torque tube shaft.

Engine mounts (which I don't think you are referring to)
I don't know if you remember but I discussed with you, the best way to remove the engine a few years ago. That time I had more hassle to get the engine mounts to line up than the gear box. So I hope it is not the engine mounts.
Looks like Kelpro have part numbers for front and rear engine mounts.
Part numbers look the same in the Kelpro catalogue for Sigma/Scorpion.

Not sure if they mean rear engine mount here?
So I go to their website and they have been taken over by Redranger.
Will email them and try and find if there is a new/improved part number, unless someone has done this or sourced a part elsewhere.

Checking the JD manual again it looks like a rear engine mount is the most likely thing? as the torque tube mount looks like a pretty solid item and looked OK when I took it apart.

Kelpro MT8035N are what I'm using, they're a urethane version of the original rubber engine mounts, and fit up exactly as factory. I do remember buying a Kelpro transmission mount that looked the same as the Starion ones in the picture in their catalogue, but I couldn't get it to fit. I think it was actually listed for an L200, and must have been different to the Starion one in some way.

The torque tube bushes I'm meaning are these ones:

Parts 34056B and 34056C.

A fellow on the StarQuestClub forums has just purchased the Stedebiani's old molds for Starion suspension bushes, and has done a new run of urethane items. I've got a complete set on the way to me at the moment :-).

I can't find any info on those NOLTEC N91921 bushes, but I suspect they were the big cylindrical bushes that fit where the rear subframe mounts to the vehicle, 34027 in above picture. NOLTEC don't exist anymore by the look of things, I think they were purchased by RedRanger, who also own Nolathane and Whiteline, and were absorbed by one of those companies.




However, it is pretty common for the torque tube splines to be worn, and if they're worn, then the corresponding splines on the diff will be worn too.

The Kelpro catalogue I was referrring to is on page 68 and Sigma on page 67 are the same.

Ahh, they do list a transmission mount for the Starion, MT8209. Might have to order on of those in :-).

One of the austarion.com forum members listed the following PN for the Starion.

Is this a rear engine/manual transmission mount?
Is this old PN correct and if so what is the equivalent new PN if available. Thanks for your assistance.

Noltec were the worst urethane brand ever made, their parts used to disintegrate in the bag!
Fibreglass airdams $370, fibreglass front bumpers $260, reco drag links $165, alloy radiators $925 (unpolished), h/l switch rebuilds $125, all plus freight.

What about Nolathane?
