why rx7 over w58.. or better even an r154?

No such animal Aaron. Why not get a narrow block to t56 bellhousing from bill hincher in the states? He does other gearboxes too...
Fibreglass airdams $370, fibreglass front bumpers $260, reco drag links $165, alloy radiators $925 (unpolished), h/l switch rebuilds $125, all plus freight.

I guess a t-56 would be able to handle the punishment & are a dime a dozen.
