small lsd diff gears

Post by greenstaz82 »

Does anyone know if theres any other diff gearing available for the small lsd. I have a lsd out of a jb in my car at the moment and looking to change to 3.9 if possible. Im currently in the uk and while im here I thought id take a look around for one here. Thanks Todd

All early japanese starions had the small diff, and a 3.909:1 ratio.

Do you know if any UK spec starions were ever fitted with the small diff ? all I can seem to find over here is widebodies with what looks to be the big diff and 6 bolt axles.

I'm sure the early flatbody cars would have had the small diffs, but I really can't be sure of the ratio's sorry.

There is word that early Pajero/Monetro (the really square shape) front diffs are a match for the small starion stuff?

Also, old RWD Lancer Turbo's should have the same bits too.

Most Starions in the UK seem to be '86 onwards and either wide or narrow body. I guess the really early ones might have small diff. I'm quite sure mine is 4 bolt big diff narrow body.

I don't think there is a good source of 3.9 diffs in the UK. All the pickups/pajeros seem to have 4.x diffs as they are mostly diesels too. The newer pickups/pajeros have 3.x diffs (as the engines have got more powerful and need faster top ends) but I have no idea if those parts would still fit the Starion.
