WTB: Sunroof Seal and Mechanism

Post by Schultz »

I am looking for a sunroof seal and complete mechanism for my Starion. I need it send to 4613 QLD Australia.

At the moment I have the metal roof part with a bracket each corner. It was electric but I just want it to work so I can change it to mechanical. I don't have anyway of connecting the sunroof to the mechanism.

Any pictures of anything along this line would be appreciated because I don't know how it all connects. I don't have the option of driving to the car wreckers to look at sunroofs because they are too far away from where I am living.

Thank you for any assistance anyone can provide.

No, he had a turret and I thought he meant sunroof. What he had is to change the whole roof with a new good skin but I would like to keep the sunroof now. If I can get to Brisbane one day I should be able to get to some car wreckers to have a look into it but I am hoping that someone might have the parts I need on here because Brisbane is like 3 hours drive away which for me is a long way.

You need to know what brand of sunroof it is, but i'd say your chances of finding a replacement part is between buckleys & none.

I sourced my part from the states when mine broke. Turns out I got the last "new" one. But you can get a tone of second hand ones if you have the stock sunroof. Or you might get luck and find someone with a brand new one they just haven't opened.

Thanks redzone
I have about zero chance of finding out what brand of sunroof I have. I don't even know if it is a stock sunroof or not. The tray under the turret looks stock but the electric motor and gearbox is not stock but it has Mitsubishi on it so my guess would be that it came out of a Mitsubishi car also no idea what car.

Thanks WidebodyWoody

I thought i might have a problems finding the parts I need here so I thought I would try the Starquest forum in the USA and see if anyone might have the bits and if they are willing to ship to here.

It wont be a stock sunroof, so getting parts from the starquestclub forum wont help, what you need to do is post pics of it all, and i mean lots of pics, and maybe someone will recognise it...

yeah Starions never had electronic sun roofs. They only ever came out with the wind ones. I would do what dave said take a tone of pics and start visiting some sun roof businesses. They may not be able to supply, but someone may remember seeing it from years ago.
