6 Bolt Diff

Post by RiceThief »

I've got a 4.22 Crownwheel and pinon from a large 4 bolt diff, will this fit in the 6 bolt diff?

I'm hoping no, then you can sell it to me so I can put it in my 4-bolt big diff :D
But based on my experience of fitting a 4.625 from an L300 open diff into my small lsd, I'm guessing as long as the dimensions of the gears are the same you should be OK.

From where did you happen to pick this 4.22 set up from?

Yes. Large housings are the same (4/6 bolt).

Thanks JJH and Mrbishi, JJH I got the set up from airbats many years ago but didn't have a big diff housing to put it in.

So l300 4.6 diff will fit in a stazz ?

L300 4.6 will fit into small diff as RZ said. There is also a 4.8:1 L300 diff though I'm not sure what model it is from or how rare they are.
I once upon a time had 4.6 gear in a Scorpion housing in my Sigma (cool story hansel)

I've got a 4.825 diff out of the front of a 1988 Pajero sitting here on the bench. I'm prepared to swap it for a 4.6 small diff if anyones interested.
