Any particular reason the rear bars are welded onto a crossbar at the struts and not down onto the chassis rails?

I got it through ANDRA to have it tied in to the strongest part of the car, the two strut tower. The floor in the boot is weak and has no structure.

I love the removable side intrusion bars, but I didn't think that was legal. Beautiful welding job.

Under ANDRA rules, a car with an unmodified floor pan can go up to 9.00 ET with removable intrusion bars.
And ANDRA cages don't have cross sections for chassis rigidity like cams.

So under andra you can run the windscreen cross brace behind the sun visors ok? I'm getting the cage done in my green gem in the next few weeks..
Fibreglass airdams $370, fibreglass front bumpers $260, reco drag links $165, alloy radiators $925 (unpolished), h/l switch rebuilds $125, all plus freight.

Doing my cage next week and your pics have been a help actually. Got a bond kit coming up, myself and a fabricator i know are fitting it.
His understanding after talking to andra head office is that we can run a welded in place but bolt in cage with removable intrusion bars down to 9.00. Thoughts?
