HANGING ROCK CAR SHOW 2013 (VICTORIA)

Post by Hitchy »

Hi All,

2013 Hanging Rock Car Show 10th February

eligable vehicles 1988 and before.

See below for details and info from previous years.

Just got the date for next years Hanging Rock Classic Car Show.

put it in your diaries:

12th February 2012

Last year there were over 4500 classic cars in attendance, we managed to get 3 AUStarion cars there. Those who attended had an awesome time. See last years event for comments.

Image

This year there are strict admittance regulations, all cars have to be 1986 or before to qualify for display. $20 per car entry fee.

Looking at again meeting as group in Romsey, about 15min away and arriving as a group, this will ensure we are all grouped together. Hanging Rock is located about 1 hour north of Melbourne via Calder FWY or Tullamarine FWY then Lancefield Rd.

Hopping also to get the Sigma- Galant forum involved and get a large group of classic Mitsubishis represented. At last years display Toyota & Nissan/Datsun owners club had a good turn out hopping we can beat them this year.

Regardless of where you are it is worth the trip. Car quality is not a big issue, it will be good to all get together and meet fellow Mitsubishi forum members.

Please reply to this post if you're interested in attending or have any further questions. Keep an eye on this topic for further info close to the date. and check out official website www.picnicathangingrock.com.au

Cheers,

Hitchy

When you hit the tree between the headlights that’s understeer. When you hit the tree between the tail lights that's oversteer!

Well the 2013 Picnic at Hanging Rock Car Show is coming up again on Sunday, February 10th. Last year there were 3 fine examples on show, lets see if we can get even more this year.
I will be making the trip over from South Australia bringing my burgandy JB, so how about meeting up somewhere before like last year, & arriving in a convoy. :)

Yep you're right Pete, it's on again, 10th of Feb. Best car show of the year by far, it's the car show of car shows. More info: http://www.picnicathangingrock.com.au/

Pic from last year showing the dismal Mitsu contingent: Image

Let's lift our game and get a few more cars this year.
I've been told by the President himself that Toyota is going to have a monster turnout this year and I was there when he was awarded the club display award last year!
Not sure if Hitchy is joining us this year, will find out. Meantime, where are you staying when you're here Pete so we can sort a meeting place...

Who else is joining us?

Just confirmed that I will be camping at the Macedon Caravan Park, 324 Blackforest Road, Macedon on the Saturday night, then driving into Hanging Rock Sunday morning for the show & returning to SA straight after.

If we get a few people, I'll organise a convoy. Consider it a Starion cruise! Two years in a row we've done it from Romsey, details are in previous posts of the meeting place.
And good to know Pete, I've got your number so we can meet up there or do the cruise if that happens.

Hey Frank,

I'll take you up on the lift, pick me up from the meeting spot in Romsey!

Pete if you want to meet there as well it's not to far out of your way. From Macedon about 10-15min over the mount, great twisty section as you come down the back, I'm a local so I know all the good roads.

Best to arrive togethor in convoy to make sure everyone is togethor otherwise could be placed anywhere and parking space can be tight.

So wish I had the Galant ready. Maybe i'll take the Evo and tell'em it was built in 1988. lol.

Cause it's a classic show there a 25 year minimum age (1988 or before) so that will just about cover all Starion models including some wideys.

I'll put a post on Sigma-galant.com and see by some miracle if we can get a few more Mitsubishis to attend.

Cheers,

Hitchy

Okay Andy, have to set up a time. We'll work it out closer to the day, which is soon. Actually about a week to go.

Post here if you're joining us. Or thinking of joining us...and we'll convince you to do so from there LOL

Andy / Frank, PM me your phone numbers so we can finalise arrangements. I'm in for sure. See you all next week-end.
(I injured my left arm on the week-end & cant drive a manual g/b atm, but should be OK by later in the week :) )

If you want, I can bring some big Mitsubishi flags & banners to drape over your bonnet to hide any blemishes. So no excuses now. :D
