Looking great Al. Couple of things, I take it you wanted to colour code the grille and side lights, yes?
Was the import centre garnish deliberate too? Because you'll have to bend your new rear plate to fit it.

Yes. I have US side lights/reflectors to go in too.

Yes. I have an old number plate that I bent to fit, you only have to fold about 10mm or so each side. Plus it's the only one I have with all the mounting tabs intact and I think it looks better than a wide open space Aus one.

...I personally don't like them much but they're great from a speed camera perspective, from the side some letters or numbers vanish! :D

I kinda like how it makes another lot of squares, ties in with the light lenses.
I don't speed...so there's no issue with that :D

Also they allow you to open the hatch like a normal person too!

Yes, I like the US/Jap spec number plate garnish with the JA taillights especially if the tail's are given a light tint.
That's a great touch on the front grill and side lights. I wouldn't have it on certain coloured stazzas (eg., white or burgandy), but the silver looks great.
And I gotta say, the JB side vents look better than the JA ones even though I would have kept it JA. Again, the silver sets it off!!

This is a nice restoration. Good work Al :beer

Who knows the feeling.......while I'm doing "this" I may as well just do "that" and maybe "something else". Yep...me too.

While the head is being looked at and before it goes back on, may as well do the water pump. May as well replace the radiator hoses. May as well get the radiator checked, cleaned, pressure tested. And of course, a new radiator cap.

When does it end?

sounds familiar.. while i'm replacing the cas, i i figured i might as well replace the engine loom, the turbo rear housing, the dump pipe, reroute the wastegate, install the factory heat shield, install the coilovers and 5 stud conversion, put in new brake pads, discs and lines, reposition the intercooler, resposition the ecu, install some switches and gauges, install a short shifter, install a new front bar......

Radiator cleaned and tested to 20 psi. Good to go.

And then you think to yourself...stuff looks crappy so you just can't put it back on....so out comes the degreaser, sandpaper and paint....

Cos it's what I had.

Cos if I ever clean it again gloss should be easier than matt.
