D2 Coilover Installations
D2 Coilover Installations
So who has D2 Coilovers installed?
I have had the rears in for ages and have been happy with them.
Now for the fronts...
How much of the strut have you guys been leaving to insert up into the D2's. I want to know the best length in milimeters to cut at. Some the US guys are saying the have left them too long and arn't able to go as low as they were hoping as the adjustment bottomed out.
Cheers,
Pete

I left 30mm on mine & after talking to an engineer DIDN'T drill a hole & plug welds as he explained it can cause stress having 2 different areas welded like that..

Dave did the engineer give any indication that this mod could be certified for road use? I was wondering whether an x-ray or some other testing would get an engineer to sign off for rego.
I have heard round the traps that licencing (in WA at least) won't accept any welding what so ever on the strut, but I'm hoping maybe that's not the absolute rule.

Shannon and Charlie, I'll have my struts out tomorrow. So how bout that group buy on getting Aaron's dad to weld those D2s? Aaron, put in a good word to your old man for us? Those welds on yours look ULTRA neat.

I believe that there are only a handful of approved RMS engineers these days. They should be listed on the RMS website.
greg at Autosport in Kirrawee might also be of help.
Aaron I am sure, will know an engineer or three...
I am not so sure about doing my D2's..as I am sellingmy car and more than likely won't be installing them.
