WTD: Weatherstrips

Need passenger and drivers side, the bit of rubber that runs on the outside of the doors between the outer door skin and the bottom of the window glass. Must be in good condition as mine have rusted inside the rubber.

Probably one of the rarest parts to find in good condition.

Hope someone here can help you, but you might have better luck with the Starquest forum in the US if you haven't tried already.

Australian ones have almost always had too much sun exposure, which dries and curles the rubber, exposing the metal strip to rust.

I thought I would try here as you may not get as much salt on the roads when it gets cold, but I see its also caused by the sun! Argh! :x

Might just stick on one of those universal sorts until I can find some, better than a mangled leaky one.

Yep and after wrecking starions for 7 years i finally have a good set to put on my jap spec widey which has suffered the same fate on those moldings..

Someone needs to reproduce these things, might have to send a sample to rare spares. But would Starion owners pay the kinda money they would ask??

OK, I found what looks like a pretty good place in the UK that I'm going to speak to and draw up some dimenions+photos of the seals. I have no idea what the prices would be. Probably do it his evening.

Surely they could be reproduced without the metal in them, there's plenty of other materials that can used these days...
Reduce fuel costs by 15-20% & cut emissions by 1/3rd...
Increase engine performance & prolong engine life...
How?

you will probably find that the metal makes them a shitload cheaper to manufacture.

I have found that it is always the top & bottom sections that rust and bubble, has anyone ever seen a rear one do it?

See here for progress on this:

Will need to know if people are interested, which I understand is difficult if they are not available/without photos.
