Small update
Bumpers, nose cone, light covers, front skirt all tidied up and in primer ready for paint (and have been for some time just waiting for the weather to finally warm up enough....)
pleased to find no hidden surprises pulling it all apart :beer
other things on the to do list:
Power steering box leaking around the adjuster nut - just going to try goop it with some gasket sealer (as suggested on another thread here)
Front brake rotors - going to pull the front hubs off tomorrow and see if the rotors have enough meat on them to be skimmed
Tyres - Looking at replacing the semi slicks on my other gold centered mags and get them back on the car.
Then just some tidy up here and there - refurb taillights, plastics and black bits.

So its back together and even legal again - first time in a year. Was quite nice driving it again today :)
Of course the new paint is far from a perfect match to the many other shades of red from the last 30 years on the car - motivation to do the rest at some stage but for now it looks tidier than it was
Gave the engine bay a bit of a tidy too - need to do some painting of bits and pieces and get some matching leads one of these days . . . .
New tyres coming for my other mags on Friday - looking forward to getting them back on the car

Oh its still got some leaks Slowly working my way through fixing them
Took it for a wee drive today - about 900km
Wasnt without problems however . . . . Had the boost gauge randomly start flicking around all over the place and the car started missing and backfiring quite bad (even just cruising at a constant speed). First thought was to check for vacuum leaks although not alot that can actually leak on these. Ended up unpluging the box on the firewall (where the vacuum line goes into). It drove smoothly again after this thankfully. Just drove it quietly the rest of the way home. Will swap it with the one on my other car tomorrow.
