Also, any recommendations on where to get my car engineered? the rules for this event include the following:
Also, any recommendations on where to get my car engineered? the rules for this event include the following:
If any change has been made to any manufacturer’s specification on a vehicle of this type that requires certification from an engineer to either obtain or maintain road registration, then the relevant engineer’s certificate, or a copy of the same, must be made available at any event at which the vehicle competes when the vehicle is presented for scrutineering. The production of a letter from an RTA Authorised Inspection Station which states, in the opinion of the Authorised Inspection Station, that no engineer’s certificate is required in respect of the change to maintain road registration shall be prima facie evidence that no such certificate is required.

Ok, so I am gearing up to enter this event. Money is tight at the moment, and there are a lot of expenses to actually get the car up to scratch, so I might not actually make it.
It looks like I need a cams or aasa license - what's the easiest and cheapest way to get this? Sorry, but i'm a noob when it comes to these things.
I can put down the names of 4 pit crew, but the names MUST be down on the form. Anyone feel like coming along and helping in the most likely scenario of mechanical issues?

I'll be down for this, would you be down for me putting some stickers on the car etc?
Go AASA, alot cheaper and less stress AFAIK.

Yes, AASA cheaper than CAMS. I personally wouldn't want to test AASA insurance, and CAMS was never that difficult to get done.
Another option, get the stickers as magnets instead!

Should come off easy if you apply a little heat from a hair drier :Dthrash wrote:Sure thing, so long they don't damage the paint when you take em off ;)

Do you guys think it's really possible to reach terminal speed within a kilometer? I'm thinking I probably won't reach top speed by the finish..
Have to try and research how this might be calculated
