Shannons SnowyMountains 1000 merte sprint

Post by OLD FART »

Wish I were closer to this as I would have loved find out the terminal speed the Staz down the runway of the airport.
Who is going to represent Austarion???????
snowymountains1000@hotmail.com
So who is going to have "a red hot go " go for the title of Australias fastest Starion over the measured Kilometere ??????????

PS MY JB with a 3.9 & 7 Box does 115.5 @ 3000 so @ my theoretical top speed @ my 7200 limit = 277klicks =173mph
This is where I found about the event. http://www.performanceforums.com/forums ... tober-27th

big things on my list:
the starion
rofl

everything. I've been too busy to work on it the past few weeks. Will hopefully have some time in 3 weeks or so.

On the list written down for the moment:
-replace cas
-mount and rewire ecu
-put on advanced spoilers front bar and make up under tray
-change the rear housing of turbo from welded internal gate housing to gateless housing (and so will just need a dump pipe done for this)
-get intercooler piping sorted, intercooler fixed (one of the intercooler inlets had a very restrictive dent i forgot about)
-sort out intake butterflies
-get coolant piping sorted + plumb in heater
-fix leaking surge tank
-put in coilovers
-put in 5 stud stuff (need new brake pads)
-get tires for front wheels and put on 5 stud wheels
-get tacho working
-properly mount gauges
-find out why interior fan won't work and fix
-reinstall dash
-install short shifter
-install bucket seat for driver

additional wishlist:
-considering adding functional vents to spare bonnet to keep things cool
-replace clock with wired in pop up gps unit
-also considering whether to get an evo IX turbo from gtpumps (will need new manifold as well as dump plus cost of turbo itself and not to mention retune = $$$ which i don't have right now) - apparently the evo ix turbos spool up like crazy and still happily make almost 300wkw.. but i don't think I will have the money for this any time soon, so will probably stick to the old gt3076r and just change the rear housing
-coil on plug?

That's what I was working on.

Thinking if he wants to do it, I'll try & get my boss to pay the entry fee. As long as the entry is under the name, VPW.

I want to try but it's not that easy. I believe the car can do 260kmh, so i need tyres rated for that speed, not to mention aero work! (i have no front bar at all remember.) then factor in your car is on full throttle for 1000mtrs so you need to keep an eye on oil pressure, oil temp and afr's. I wont pop a perfectly good engine for nothing.

Oh and i haven't even hit the brakes yet!

Another run of t-shirts perhaps?

Well i found this on youtube from when dirty sanchez owned the car. Pretty sure he is cheating using a 3.9 diff and a 3.5 speedo, but you get the idea of how quick it is.

*edit* No wait it's correct as it does do 160 in 3rd with my gps!
