Further to what MM said it keeps the car "legal" too.
There was only one case of the rolling scenario Rad where there was opportunity to park next to a gutter. The rest were parallel parks.
And the habit is so well formed now, I turn the wheels in with the current daily Starion (the white car's replacement) even though I don't believe it will roll away...

Why you shouldnt weld your diff
Why you shouldnt weld your diff
1. This diff oil was only 1500 Kms old, its already black with a rich silver pearl due to lots of fine metal shavings from the gers and broken welds
2. You can also see the chunks of weld that has broken off due to the huge pressures and there is visible wear on the crown and pinion gears where it has been picked up and crushed by the spinning gears
3. My half shafts now make a clicking noise every now and then
4. Its ruined my torque tube spline
Also its illegal and dangerous on roads especially if you haven't driven with one before or its raining.

I think it's just that they have more tracks there that support it, so you see more of it, and more people trying different stuff just because of the larger number of tracks allowing drift.
I agree it would be good to see even more support for it in Aus yeh!
But yeh watching US drifting on TV was the most boring stuff I'd ever seen. (Sorry no offence meant to you US guys on here). Formula D, very boring and they're cars are ugly as. I'd rather watch 10 minutes of drift on TV of our awesome Australian tracks (or some Japanese stuff) than watch an hour of Formula D.
I love Winton here in Vic, I reckon it's one of the best tracks for drifting!

nahh i don't.. i should've clarified that i meant the vehicles etc was what i was referring to. Even luke fink himself when he went over there competing in Formula D1 said he couldn't believe the variety of different cars there and how it wasn't just silvia's on the drift track etc.. Thats why when i see a underpowered ke70 i give him more props over a sr20det s13 based on that preference of trying to stand out from the rest. Both country's have pros and cons i guess.. if anything japan is where its at! ;) :beerredzone wrote:Pleeeeeeeease tell me you don't idolise the american style of drifting...GormzZ wrote:its seems its always the americans doing the cool different stuff... we need more of it here!

You mean the "add more power, floor it out of a bend and do sick skids" approach? Lolredzone wrote:Pleeeeeeeease tell me you don't idolise the american style of drifting...GormzZ wrote:its seems its always the americans doing the cool different stuff... we need more of it here!
RE CIG lockers, they're fine if you can't get an LSD for your diff. Well, not ideal, but they get the job done. Diff swap to something you can get LSD centers for would be the ideal solution, obviously, but that gets expensive.
Speaking of, anyone know if a Starion LSD will bolt into a Scorp housing? And do the axles fit?
