is he talking about the splines wearing? thats the only thing i've ever found, and that can be avoided very easily..

On that point, I've noticed some chatter on the Starquest site that someone has successfully removed/replaced the torque tube; I haven't spent any time trying to find the details but would be an interesting read.1320ft wrote:My diff guy said the only other thing that has a high fail rate is the torque tube.
besides my diff replacement.. i think my torque tube is shot also.. regreased the spline up with ALOT of heavy grease.. and its still there. I honestly think its the bearing inside the torque as starquest members claim its a big issue that can cause vibration or clunk noises etc....

Well if you have a Euro import.. then you can have a open 6 bolt as most are open diffs here.redzone wrote:As far as I'm aware, there is no such thing as an open 6 bolt centre.. All the 6 bolts were lsd's
Both of my wideys started with a open diff
Had to import a LSD one from the UK so the DOHC conversion could actually put that power to the ground.
