WTB - Dash Clock.

Post by ProZac »

I'm wanting to remove my Velnas unit for the twin-cam swap, as trying to get it to work without the factory gauge cluster, and injections system would just be a little too much work.

Anyone out there got a black clock?

Cheers.

Plenty of black clocks on this side of the pond if you can't find one.

I've sent you the clock some time ago Zac, did you get it?

It is maroon, and when I asked you what colour you wanted, you said "surprise me".

Ummmm, I think you sent a clock to Robin, not me? I got the sweet fog light switch :). Going to catch up with Robin this saturday if the weather plays ball, and try to suss out the velnas in his car for you.

I might have to send you a black clock, though I think that's the only one I have left now. I'll see what I can do for you...

If you can get the Velnas out of Robin'c car and mark the wires by writing on pieces of tape as you go when you know what it's connected to, then looks like I'll fire the clock in your direction.

Sounds like you are dropping your Velnas unit too. Why don't you guys like them? You can make them work with aftermarket ECUs, people on this forum have done it, albeit with lots of stuffing around...

I really like the unit, and it works really well in my car... But getting it to work with an MPI injection system, with different sized injectors?

It'd kinda be a fun project to mess around with... I should hook the scope up some time and see what wire gets what signal.

Im hoping to remove the wiring intact from Robins car for you. He's got a good portion of the dash apart, so there hopefully might be room to move about in there and trace some stuff.

enthuzed, I'm sure you've already done a fair amount of googling. Stumbled across this:

http://starquest.i-x.net/viewtopic.php? ... a801e31a81

though, worth a read. When you're trying to get it up and running, can can scope any wires you're curious about, as I wont be pulling it out of my car for a few months yet :).

Thanks Zac, I haven't spent any time on Starquest but got all the info I could from this forum. An excellent resource, I'll have to dig around on the SQ forum now...

Got the unit out of robins car for you, got the wiring figured out and it working on the bench. I dont have an easy way of generating functions at home, but I can take it to uni next week and test the fuel and speed lines if you like.
