Metal spinners?

Post by TOMSUN »

Any metal spinners on here?

I'm thinking about getting a new set of outers for my 3 piece rims...

Came across this link a while ago. Found some random forum threads through google about them. Apparently do decent work but don't hold me to it, price was about 150 per piece (outers) as a ball park.

been to these guys to get an oem alloy wheel fixed before - they do very good work, but aren't cheap. They look like they really love what they do.

don't know if they would make you new outers though

Thanks guys,
I've had 2 metal spinners get back to me and they said that they could make some new outers to match my current profiles but they need to make a mold/die up and the tooling would be between $1500 and $2500!

I got a quote to have my current outers polished for $500, and I think I'm just going to do that instead.

I can't remember the shop name but found him my accident. He's in Childs rd Chipping Norton. Let me know if you want his details and I'll drive past and grab them.

Be warned though, as Pete found out, unless you're after an outer rim for a wheel lip/bolt pattern they already have a die for you won't be just getting the outers for $150. You'll need to pay tooling up cost as well.

From memory they did have most of the usual subjects covered, ie: simmons, rays, bbs etc. but odd ballers and copying a certain rim lip profile falls into the "custom" price range.

I've read various comments. The worst were complaints about after sales customer service and some questioned the quality of some finishing details. Probably suit race cars more than show/bling mobiles from the comments I saw. They have some great retro designs but the cost from Australia is just too much for me.

There is/was a nice track widebody with DOHC running in the UK. It had a set of custom Image wheels fitted.
